Who’s in the Top Of The Lake cast? Elisabeth Moss, Gwendoline Christie and Nicole Kidman lead the drama

HIT mystery series Top Of The Lake is back for a second outing with a crop of new characters, played by A-list actors, along for the ride.

Jane Campion’s crime drama, starring Elisabeth Moss, is heading into even “deeper, darker, more f***ed up” territory – but which stars are going to help tell the story?

Who is in Top Of The Lake: China Girl on BBC Two?

Elisabeth Moss

Top Of The Lake series two stars Elisabeth Moss, once again, as troubled Detective Robin Griffin, who’s an expert in sexual assault cases after being gang-raped in her youth.

The actress got her big break in Mad Men and has recently been playing the lead in the TV series The Handmaid’s Tale.

She’ll soon star in a movie version of Chekhov’s play The Seagull, alongside Saoirse Ronan.

Gwendoline Christie

Robin is joined on a new murder case by police officer Miranda, played by Game Of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie.

Christie was cast because she’s very tall and Campion believes she presents an a-typical view of what a woman should look like.

She’s also known for part in the new Star Wars movies.

Nicole Kidman

Meanwhile Robin is discovering what happened to the daughter she put up for adoption, and it turns out to be 17-year-old Mary.

And Mary’s adoptive mother Julia is played by the show’s most famous star, Nicole Kidman, who gets to use her native Australian accent for the role.

Moulin Rouge star Nicole seems to be reinventing herself through TV roles at the moment after wowing viewers in Big Little Lies.
