When is Uruguay vs Argentina, what TV channel is it on and will Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi play?

URUGUAY take on Argentina Montevideo in a repeat of the first ever World Cup final.

On that day in 1930, at the Estadio Centenario, it was the Uruguayans won ran out 4-2 winners.

Lionel Messi scored the only goal when Argentina beat Uruguay 1-0 in Mendoza

And the two sides are set to lock horns at the same stadium in one of their most significant recent encounters.

Both Uruguay and Argentina are far from assured of a place in next summer’s World Cup.

With four teams to go through, Uruguay lie 3rd in the group on 23 points after a horrific run of three straight defeats.

And Argentina are currently a point lower in 5th place, which would see Lionel Messi and co face a playoff against the winner of Oceania qualifying.

Will Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi play?

Lionel Messi is sure to captain Argentina as he bids to help his country on the way to their first international title since 1993.

Luis Suarez seemed certain to miss the match after sitting out the start of Barcelona’s season with a knee injury.

But the striker has flown back to Montevideo and is training with the Uruguay squad, raising hopes that he could make a miraculous recovery in time for the clash.

Suarez famously helped La Celeste put England to the sword in the 2014 World Cup with a brace after he was thought to be injured.
