Haksabanovic, 18, was born in Sweden to Montenegrin parents and made his senior international debut for the former Yugoslav republic in June.

The teenager can play as an attacking midfielder or forward.

Haksabanovic became the youngest player in Halmstads’ history when he made his debut in 2015 at the age of only 15.

He subsequently had trials at Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa.

But West Ham are in pole position to give him the chance to make his name in English football.
