West Ham pull out of £20m race for Arsenal star Olivier Giroud after he tells them they are NOT his first choice

WEST HAM will not make a run to sign Arsenal striker, Olivier Giroud, after he reportedly made it clear they are not his top choice, according to reports.

The Frenchman expressed his openness to leave Arsenal following the club’s record £52 million signing of Alexandre Lacazette.

But the London Stadium will not be his next destination, according to a tweet from Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol.

Everton are apparently the front runner to sign the £20 million rated player but could face competition from the likes of  Marseille, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.

Giroud saw limited playing time last season for the Gunners after once being the clubs undisputed top striker.

But with the emergence of Alexis Sanchez and now Lacazette, Giroud would spend even more time on the bench.

Last season he played in 39 games for Arsenal scoring 16 goals.

He has spent the past five seasons with the club.

With West Ham being snubbed by Giroud, they are now forced to search elsewhere.

The Hammers are desperate to bring a new striker in before the start of the new season.
