Water Pollution : Close To Half Of The Population In Eastern Region Drink Polluted Water – PLAN International

Reliable information indicate to half of  rural communities in Eastern region lack access to potable drinking water hence depend on polluted water bodies for consumption which is inimical to the health of the affected population .

 

Eastern Unit Manager of Plan International Ghana, Kofi Adade Debrah disclosed this to Mynewsghana.com when Plan International Ghana commissioned  Ghc107,000  mechanised boreholes Mintakrom and Amahi -Nkwanta in the Eastern region .

 

The project  forms part of a €1 million integrated Water ,Sanitation and Hygiene (IWASH ) project seeking to reduce mortality by 50% in 20 rural communities in the Eastern and Volta regions within 3 year period.
