Veep’s Wife Supports Fishmongers in Effutu

Veep’s Wife Supports Fishmongers in EffutuMrs Matilda Amissah-Arthur, Wife of the Vice President, has urged the Effutu Constituency members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to unite and work hard for victory in the November 7 election.

Mrs Amissah-Arthur made the call when she donated some items to a women’s group of the party called “Eyendadoo” made up of fishmongers in the constituency at ceremony in Winneba.

The items include 300 basins, bundles of wire nets used for smoking fish, a quantity of party T-shirts and bags of rice for the Moslem women in the group to support them during the Ramadan.

Mrs Amissah-Arthur said the donation was in response to a request made by the group through the constituency women’s organiser and also as her commitment to empower the women to get the maximum out of their trade.

She advised them to make the education of their children, especially the girls, a priority to build a brighter future for them.

Mr Francis A. Togoe, the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, said it was about time members of the NDC buried their differences and came together to fight a common course of winning the election.

Paa Nii Lamptey, the Constituency NDC Chairman, thanked Mrs Amissah-Arthur for the support adding; “this shows that you are a caring and loving mother.”

He advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the items to enhance their work.
