UEW holds 21st congregation ceremony for students from the southern sector

Winneba (C/R), July 29, GNA – A total of
10,587 students are graduating from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW)
at various levels.

This includes 6,644 and 3,943 graduates from
the northern and southern sector respectively. 

Professor Anthony Afful-Broni, Acting Vice
Chancellor of UEW, who announced this at a three-day graduation ceremony held at Winneba for some regular and sandwich students, who had
fulfilled all the necessary requirements, said in terms of award categorization
the total figure is made up of 904 postgraduate, 6,008 bachelor’s degrees and
3,675 diploma awards.

A total of 1,282 students made up of 955
Bachelor of Education and 327 diploma from Accra Academy, Accra College of
Education, Dambai, Hohoe, Ho and Sogakepe Southern Sector study centers were
graduated on the first day.

On the second day 1,197 made up 962 Bachelor
of Education and 235 diploma students from Assin Fosu, Axim, Koforidua, Krobo
Odumasi, Nkawkwa, Sekondi and Tarkwa were also honoured.

And a total of 1,464 graduates were awarded
degrees and diploma made up 660 students graduated from Cape Coast, Tema and
Winneba Study Centers, 660 also from the School of Graduates Studies and 144
from the Faculty of Educational Studies on the third day.

Students from Northern Sector who have also
fulfilled the necessary requirement will be graduated at Kumasi and Asante
Mampong Campuses in August 2017.

Professor Afful-Broni said graduates are the
human resources that will propel the growth of the nation and their abilities
and competences acquired were needed in this regard.

He said lesson preparation, choice of
instructional media, punctuality, innovativeness and desire to help struggling
students as some of areas they should critically look on.

He urged them to exhibit professionalism in
the conduct of their occupation adding that they should be motivated by the
desire to work for the common good of mankind.
