UBA holds Mini Olympics in Ghana

Accra , Jul 12, GNA – United Bank of Africa (UBA) Ghana, over the weekend, held its first ever Mini Olympics Games, at Dzorwulu, in Accra.

The bank has been organizing quarterly jogging and keep fit activities for its staff, which is aimed at maintaining a good healthy living, through exercises.

The event, which was dubbed the “Mini Olympics” due to the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympics in Brazil, took place at Dzorwulu, to create awareness in the Dzorwulu environs about the newly opened UBA branch in the area.

It brought staffs of the bank from various branches together and engaged in games like ludu, tug of peace, lime and spoon, athletics, football.

The Chief Executive Officer of UBA Ghana, Mrs. Abiola Bawuah, in a short remarks to commence the event said “the health of our staff is of great importance to us. Aside the frequent fitness checks we do, we believe that games like this also help us stay fit”.

According to Mrs. Bawuah, the one day event which was being organized in all the 19 countries that the bank was present in, was to help bond the great family of the bank.
“The purpose of this event is to bond us together as a team and allow people to know that they are part of a bigger family, like UBA.”

“This will also help us create awareness to the public about our newly built branch in Dzorwulu, thus our decision to host this quarter’s event here” she added.

“We have changed the face of banking in Ghana, so we changed the face of our quarterly exercise, thus, Mini Olympics” she said.
Team Lion Prime emerged the overall winner ahead of Abiola, Uzoka, and Africa Pride.
