Accra, July 17, GNA –
Three persons on Monday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court on the charges
of conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.

Yaw Kumah Williams,
Abdulai Moro and Mark Tambro were said to have conspired with three others now
at large and robbed one unregistered Toyota 4Runner worth GH¢136,000.00, an
amount of GH¢2,700.00, one iPhone 7 plus worth GH¢3,500.00, all the property of
one Kwame Anim.

They pleaded not
guilty to the charges but were remanded by the court presided over by Mr
Aboagye Tandoh to reappear on July 27.

Prosecuting Deputy
Superintendent of Police (DSP) George Amegah told the court that the
complainant, Kwame Anim is a Businessman who deals in ‘’Home-Used’’ cars at
K&K motors, Tesano and lives at Amasaman.

He said Yaw is a
washing Bay operator, while Abdulai is a driver, both based in Koforidua. Mark
is a ‘’Goro Boy’’ at DVLA offices in Tema and Accra, but resides at Kasoa.

He said on June 16 at
about 2000 hours the complainant arrived at his residence in Amasaman with an
unregistered Toyota 4 Runner with chassis number JTEBU5JR8A502562 and trade
plate number DP 6487 C.

The prosecution said
when the complainant entered his walled compound and was yet to close the gate,
two unmasked men, being Yaw wielding an AK 47 rifle and another wielding a
pistol attacked him.

Yaw cocked his weapon,
pointed it at the complainant, fired a shot but the bullet which was defective
failed to discharge and rather flopped down. That act cowed and prevented the
complainant from resisting in anyway. Consequently, the two robbers boarded his
car and bolted with it and other property therein.

DSP Amegah said the
complainant reported to the police and on June 20 at about 2100 hours, a
witness spotted and identified the car which had a fake registered licensed
plate No.GT 4857-17 embossed on it at Abeka Lapaz area.

The witness with the help
of Police intercepted the car and arrested its occupants including Yaw and
Abdulai together with a potential buyer and his mechanic.

He told the court that
during investigation the complainant identified Yaw as one of the robbers who
actually pointed and attempted to fire the cocked AK 47 rifle at him whiles the
others held his brother Andrew Forkah captive and succeeded in robbing him.

Mark and the others at
large are also revealed to be the syndicate members who had been buying the
robbed vehicles.

According to the
prosecution, during the arrest of Mark, a red Toyota Corolla with fake
registration No GN 2236-17 was recovered from him.  He was also established to be the one who
secured the fake registered plate number GT 4857-17 to facilitate its free
movement and disposal.
