The Muslim leadership urged Ghanaians to work towards peaceful election in November.

islami facebook kapak resimleri (57)Muslim leadership in the Northern Region has called for a cessation of accusations and counter accusations between Abudus and Andanis in the region.

At a joint news conference in Tamale, spokesperson for the Muslim leadership Sheikh Amin Bamba, expressed concerns that the conflict has negatively impacted development of the region.

They therefore called on both sides to return to the negotiating table with the Committee of three Eminent Chiefs led by Otumfuo Osei Tutu.

They are appealed to government to form a committee to address the Bimbila and Bunkpurugu chieftaincy disputes to prevent further escalation of violence.

The news conference was under the auspices of the office of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.

It also touched on indiscipline especially among the youth, and blamed it on the indifference of political, religious and traditional leadership of the country.

They used the opportunity to appeal to political parties to incorporate peace building in their campaigns.
