The Spanish giants moved out of the Vicente Calderon after 51-years at the end of last season.

Any fans missing their club’s old stomping ground need only to look at the amazing photos of their new digs to cheer up.

Snaps on Atletico’s club page show the exterior of the stadium is almost complete bar a portion of the roof and design work on its outside.

Builders look like ants as they work on the 465,000 square meter roof, which covers 96 per cent of supporters.

But inside, it looks like there is plenty to be done.

So far, only “adrid” can be seen written over the seats, meaning to spell out the club name.

And outside the stadium, which was originally built for the 1997 World Athletics Championship, the car park and surrounding area still needs to be spruced up.

Barcelona-based contractors Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC) have just under six weeks to finish the stadium as the new La Liga season is set to kick off on the weekend of August 12-13.

As well as moving out, Atletico have also rebranded themselves with a new club crest.

Atletico boss Diego Simeone must prepare for the new campaign without making ANY transfers.

The club cannot sign any players after the Court of Arbitration upheld a transfer ban.

But that meant Manchester United target Antoine Griezmann stayed with the club – though could still leave once they are free to enter the market again.
