Stoke City’s young striker Julien Ngoy on Monaco radar as French club eye Kylian Mbappe replacement

MONACO have lined up Stoke City striker Julien Ngoy as a replacement should they lose Kylian Mbappe this summer.

Ngoy, 19, is regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in Europe and the Potters will be reluctant to lose him.

Stoke actually Stoke saw off competition from clubs including Manchester United and Real Madrid to bag Ngoy, whose first-team debut came against Arsenal in December.

He was nominated for Premier League 2 Player of the Season and is tipped to become a first-team regular in 2017/18.

Ngoy is also being monitored by Arsenal, West Ham and RB Leipzig.

But it is Monaco who are primed to move for the Belgium under-21 international.

Should Real Madrid and Arsenal target Mbappe go, Monaco are determined that he should be replaced by a young talent they can still develop rather than buy an established stand-in.

Elsewhere, Burnley have launched a £3million bid for Stoke’s Jon Walters.

The Irishman is out of contract in a year’s time and has become unhappy with his lack of chances under Mark Hughes.

Walters, 33, has spent seven years at Stoke but is now looking for a change of scenery.

And the Daily Mail claims Sean Dyche has made the first move to sign Walters as he looks for more goals.
