The Loose Women panellist has been dating the former EastEnders actor since January last year and sparked engagement rumours earlier this year when she was spotted with a ring on her left hand.

But speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, Stacey insists that while the pair are madly in love, they are in no rush to head down the aisle.

She said: “I know this sounds really ridiculous and probably boring but we’re just trying to be really sensible.

“Because he’s got a little boy and I’ve got two boys, we just want to take our time and make sure they’re super happy and comfortable and we want to do it properly because we do actually like each other, a lot.

“We want to stay together for a long time and I think the key to that is to really know what you’re doing and take your time with it and be sensible.

“We’ve both been head over heels and both gone with the wind [before] but we really value our relationship, we want it to be perfect so that it’s forever.”

The 27-year-old added how talking about moving in together is “really difficult” as the two families all need to be “on the same page”.

Stacey has always been open about her relationship with Joe, and what it’s been like to be a young mum, thanks to her role on Loose Women.

The star admits she sometimes has to check her boyfriend isn’t going to be upset by any personal details she reveals about their relationship on the show.

She said: “Sometimes, even silly little comments can offend people but I’m on there to do a job and I feel like I’ve got a moral obligation to speak up about certain things and stuff that is difficult to talk about.

“Sometimes if I do feel like maybe it’s a step too far I’ll speak to Joe and say ‘do you mind if I say this?’ and he will either say yes or no, but he’s usually really good about it.

“He says ‘look, it’s your job and I appreciate where you’re coming from and I think you should say it’ and he’s really supportive actually.”

As well as her busy Loose Women schedule, Stacey and her son’s Zachary, nine and Leighton, five, have joined forces with the AA to launch its Never Miss a Beat car game to help families connect this summer.

Explaining the game, which involves passengers singing lines from songs on the radio in time and pitch, Stacey said: “I want families to get off their electronic devices and do some in car games.

“We want to encourage people get more involved with their families while in the car, make memories and have fun.”
