She stripped to reveal her amazing figure for the cover of Women’s Health mag, saying: “I’m 45. Even if you want to, at this time in your life, you can’t be perfect.”

She spoke about her body hang-ups but also how she is not afraid to look her age.

She says: “I wish I could be a little more athletic but when you’re born with these gigantic boobs . . .

“We’re changing. I see it happening to me.

“I want to look my age but I want to look great.

“I think if you are obsessed with this ‘I want to look younger’ thing, you’re going to go crazy.”

Inspired by Sofia, JENNY FRANCIS and GEORGETTE CULLEY asked four brave Sun readers, all the same age as Sofia, to recreate her pose and discuss how they feel about their bodies.

“Confidence is the new sexy”

DANCER Louise Peaple lives in Chiswick, West London, with husband Nick, 47, and their two children. Her confidence was knocked when she was told her boobs were “too big for ballet”.

She says:
“6 I always felt bigger than my peers. I’d never have posed nude in my early 20s.

Like Sofia, my big boobs have caused me problems. I used to love dancing and started ballet when I was four, but all the other ballerinas were tiny and flat chested. I was 5ft 8in with 32DD boobs.

I hated it and tried to squash them into uncomfortable minimal- bounce bras.

When I was 19 my teachers told my parents I needed a breast reduction if I wanted to make it as a professional ballerina.

I didn’t have surgery but it was a huge blow to my confidence.

After I left the ballet world I became more confident. I started commercial dancing and people accepted me. Having big breasts was seen as sexy, rather than something to be ashamed of.

When I had children in my late 30s I stopped comparing myself to others.

I like to feel good and exercise three times a week. I try to eat a healthy diet but I have chocolate too.

Ageing doesn’t bother me, it is confidence that is sexy – and that comes with age.”

“Life is too short to worry”

SINGLE Eliza Forbes says her body confidence has grown over the years but she is still a little conscious about her stomach. The office worker, from Billericay, Essex, says:

“When I saw the picture of Sofia I thought, “Wow, she looks amazing”.

Like her, I’m Columbian so I have grown up knowing about her. It’s in our culture to celebrate confidence. I like that she’s comfortable in her body.

Although I don’t look like her, I am confident most of the time but I have a little bit of wobble around my belly that I wish I could shift.

When I was younger I worried about what is attractive and staying slim. I’ve now realised life is too short to worry.

My bust isn’t as big as Sofia’s but they are a natural 32D and I know the importance of getting a supportive bra. And I make sure I choose the right dresses to suit my figure and support my chest.

I eat a healthy diet but at 45 I don’t deprive myself. I also cleanse and moisturise every day, never go to sleep in my make-up and use natural face masks.

I have a small tattoo on my right leg that I got in my twenties. I’d never get one now but I love that it is on my body.

It reminds me of my wilder days, that’s important.”

“I learnt to love curves”

TRACY FARRELL admits she doesn’t always love her curves but decided to strip to boost her confidence. The health and safety teacher is single and lives in St Albans, Herts.

She says:

“I’m learning to embrace my curves but there have been times when I have longed to be slimmer. I’m a size 16 to 18, with large natural 36GG breasts.

I’ve had this figure since my twenties but it hasn’t always been fashionable. Thank goodness for the Kardashians.

In my twenties I wanted to be stick thin but couldn’t achieve that.

As I’ve got older I’ve become more comfortable with my curves and men have always loved them.

The only thing I would change is my tummy. I’d like it to be less flabby.

I keep fit by swimming twice a week but eat pretty much what I want. If I feel I’m putting on weight I swap bad foods for vegetables and protein.

When I do lose weight I feel much better, my skin is clearer and I have a lot more energy.
But I also like to enjoy life too, what’s the point of denying yourself everything?

I am much more comfortable in my skin now, I love that about ageing.”

CONFIDENT Buppha Wittaya-Amponpunt has never worried about her figure because she believes it is what is inside that counts. The single mum to Eve, 26, lives in Wandsworth, South-West London, and works in a shop. She says:

“I love seeing confident women like Sofia.

I feel completely happy with myself and my body.

I exercise regularly, doing yoga, dancing and also boxing every other day.

I have never felt self-conscious. I think women’s bodies are amazing.

I’m a very positive person and I think how beautiful you are comes from inside, so I’ve never worried about my size.

No guy I date cares about my size because I’m happy and confident. I never struggle to get a date.

You are sexy in your 40s if you feel sexy – it doesn’t matter what you look like.

I don’t ever think about my age either, it’s just a number and doesn’t mean anything.

I wasn’t nervous about getting naked for the shoot.

It’s a good message to send out. Being brave enough to do this makes you attractive, no matter your size.”
