Shia LaBeouf says he is ‘deeply ashamed’ of his ‘new low’ – following swear-filled tirade at cops during his arrest

SHIA LaBeouf has released an apologetic statement in the aftermath of his abusive tirade at cops during his latest arrest – saying he is “deeply ashamed” of his “new low”.

The American actor unleashed a foul-mouthed rant at cops on Monday night after they arrested him for ‘obstruction, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness’ in Georgia, US.

Once the cuffs were on, Shia levelled insults like “dumb f***” and “stupid b****” at the group of officers dealing with his arrest.

In his drunken state he also told them to “wake the f*** up” and asked “Who you fighting for?!” – but Shia has now apologised profusely for his antics, which were caught on video by the police.

The statement from LaBeouf read: “I am deeply ashamed of my behaviour and make no excuses for it…

“I am certain that my actions warrant a very sincere apology to the arresting officers, and I am grateful for their restraint.

“The severity of my behaviour is not lost on me. My outright disrespect for authority is problematic to say the least, and completely destructive to say the worst.

“It is a new low. A low I hope is bottom.”

The 31-year-old added: “I have been struggling with addiction publicly for far too long, and I am actively taking steps toward securing my sobriety and hope I can be forgiven for my mistakes.”

The Transformers star, who is married to 23-year-old Brit actress Mia Goth, posted the statement to Twitter on Wednesday – where it’s received nearly 30k likes at the time of writing.

It appears the 31-year-old was arrested after asking a police officer for a cigarette.

In the astonishing clip released by cops in Savannah, Georgia, the Transformers star shouts: “What the f*** did I do, sir?

“I have rights! I have rights, I’m an American!”

He adds: “You got me in my hotel, arresting me in my hotel, for doing what, sir?”

Then, in the back of the police car, he begins an epic LaBeouf rant to end all LaBeouf rants at the cops.

He blasts: “Who you fighting for? You’ve got a president who don’t give a s*** about you and you’re stuck in a police force that don’t give a f*** about you so you want to arrest white people who give a f***? Who ask for cigarettes?

“I came up to you trying to be nice, you stupid b****. I came up to you asking for a cigarette, you dumb f***, why would I ask for a cigarette if I was racist, you stupid b****.

“I was asking for a cigarette, you said ‘no’, I said ‘word’, and then you arrested me you dumb f***.

“They got cameras everywhere you dummy, I got more millionaire lawyers than you know what to do with, you stupid b****.

“White man in America getting arrested for asking for a cigarette, wake the f*** up, what you fighting for?”

The arrest came just days after his new war movie Man Down bombed at the UK box office in its opening weekend.

And this isn’t the first time Shia has been arrested this year.

In April, the 30-year-old was kicked out of a bowling alley after branding a barman a “f***ing racist” after he wouldn’t serve him chips.

Video footage of the incident emerged from the confrontation and Shia can be heard shouting at the man and threatening to hit him with a bottle of vodka.

The incident happened at Pinz bowling centre in California, where eyewitnesses claimed he had been drinking for three hours.

In the video, Shia shouts: “He’s about to hit me with a Grey Goose bottle about French fries? You f***ing racist b****.”

He has previously been arrested for disorderly behaviour and started treatment for alcoholism last summer.

Shia caused a stir with his anti-Trump protests this year[/caption]

In January, Shia was arrested on a similar charge after getting into a fight with a protestor at a political rally.

The anti-Trump protester was arrested during his ‘He will not divide us’ live stream which began after the Presidential inauguration.

He allegedly grabbed a fellow protester outside the Museum of the Moving Image in New York.

A video later emerged which allegedly captures the moment the scuffle happened.

The footage, which was posted to a Twitter account showed someone in sunglasses with Shia at the event.

The man said: “Hitler did nothing wrong.”

LeBeouf then appears to push the unknown person who said: “Hey why did you attack me?”

Later that day Shia was arrested at his protest spot.

Shia’s new movie Borg Vs McEnroe, in which he plays temperamental tennis ace John McEnroe, is due out in September.
