Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has expressed appreciation to God and his Red Star Belgrade teammates for a remarkable Europe debut where he scored a brace.

The 24-year-old ensured the Serbian giants secure a 3-0 win over Maltese side Floriana in the Europa League first qualifying round first leg tie.

His first was a penalty and then stabbed in the second on the 90th minute mark from close range.

”I dedicate my goals to God because he gave me the strength to achieve them, he put me in the right place at the right place,” he told the club’s website.

”Also, without my teammates I would surely not be able to give two goals and I dedicate them to them, as well as to all of our fans.

”Every goal I celebrate in a special way, what comes to my mind at that moment, I do it.

”I liked the dance, I love to play and now I will celebrate all my goals so. I like to entertain fans after a nice goal as it was today.”

Boakye’s initial four-month loan deal from defunct Serie B side Latina expires today.

He is now penned a new three-year contract after agreeing personal terms.

Last season, Boakye scored a total of 16 goals in all competitions.
