Recall Denkyira West DCE – Chiefs

The Chiefs of Upper Denkyira West district in the Central region want government to make a determination on the fate of the suspended DCE for the area.

The DCE, Daniel Apiannin has been on suspension since June, 1, 2017 following a public comment he made aftermath the lynching of the military officer, Major Maxwell Mahama in Denkyira-Obuasi.

The President, through the Ministry of Local Government, had directed him to step aside, amidst investigations into the gruesome murder of the slain soldier months ago.

The deputy central regional Minister has been acting in his stead since the suspension.

Eventhough it is unclear what the investigations into the matter has uncovered , the traditional leaders within the enclave say the development of the area has stalled in view of the absence of a substantive Chief Executive.

The Protocol Chief in the Denkyira traditional area, also known as the Dabahene, Nana Otaa Panyin III in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM said if per investigations they’ve absolve the DCE of any wrongdoing, he should be quickly recalled to help prosecute the development of the district.

“…He’s that guy; he was our hope and you know he comes from about three miles from my village and I think that if he were there the road would be good by now, even if they are not able to tar the road, they should have by now graded it…” Nana Otaa Panyin said.
