Re: Shutdown Ghana Post – MP unhappy with negative balance

Our attention has been drawn to a publication carried on myjoyonline with the headline, “Shutdown Ghana Post – MP unhappy with negative balance”.

The Management and staff of Ghana Post are unhappy about the caption used to report the appearance of Ghana Post on the Public Account Committee (PAC) on Thursday, 17th August, 2017 by myjoyonline.com.  

Management believes that the appearance afforded Ghana Post the opportunity to answer questions on previous audit issues, where we gave very positive responses to Members of the committee. The headline was not a true reflection of the events of the day.

The session gave Ghana Post the chance to share with Members of the committee and the public, the new direction (vision), mission and a brief of a 4 year strategy to turn around the company. 

Indeed, the new direction looks to improve service delivery, provide efficient customer service and growth in revenues underpinned by innovation and technology. In view of this vision, the organization has been restructured to have a commercial focus. A commercial division and a new customer service department have been created.  Most Post Offices will be networked by close of third quarter of 2017 setting the stage for expanding our financial services offerings.   Ghana Post is poised to turnaround its fortunes and to deliver value to its stakeholders in the coming years.
