Environmental Health Officer for Techiman North District in the Brong-Ahafo
Region has urged prospective landlords/ladies in the area to ensure
availability of household latrines in their houses to curb open defecations.

He said owners of
completed houses without such a facilities should make re-adjustments to
provide such facilities to avoid diseases such as; cholera, especially in the
rainy seasons.

Mr Asamani gave the
advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Thursday at Booaso-Agya at
the sidelines of a sensitisation programme on the need to keep proper
sanitation and clean environment for selected participants from Booaso-Agya and
Chemera, in the District.

The programme,
organised by the Environmental Health Department of the District was to
sensitise the participants to lead a campaign in the two communities to
identify their sanitation challenges, particularly lack of household toilets in
their homes and take steps to address them.

He appealed to
stakeholders, particularly traditional rulers to support and promote good
