The Max Planck Institute offers PhD Positions in Biogeochemistry & related Earth System Science. These positions are available for both German and international applicants.

The aim of the positions is to provide an opportunity for young researchers.

Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry houses a unique and flexible research program that grants German and foreign students.

Scholarship Award: PhD positions are fully funded either with a scholarship or a contract Scholarship can be taken in: Biogeochemistry, geosciences, geoecology, geography, remote sensing, environmental science, physics, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, biology, ecology, soil science and related sciences

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Applicants hold (or are about to receive) a Master of Science or equivalent

Nationality: Students of all nationalities are eligible to apply for these positions.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Master’s degree in biogeochemistry, geosciences, geoecology, geography, remote sensing, environmental science, physics, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, biology, ecology, soil science or related sciences

Test Requirement: Master  of science or equivalent

English Language Requirement: Excellent oral and written English skills.
