OFFICIAL: Asamoah Gyan Signs Two Year Deal With Turkish Side Kayserispor

Black stars skipper Asamoah Gyan has completed his move back to Europe, signing for Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor.

Gyan has put pen to paper on a two year deal, with an option to renew for a third year.

The Ghana captain has been playing in the Middle and Far East for the better part of the last decade, but after spells with Al Ain, Al Ahli, and Shanghai SIPG, he’s decided to make the move back to Europe as his career winds down.

Kayserispor announced the move in a belated statement through their official website.

“It’s been a while we have been negotiating with the famous Asamoah Gyan and an agreement has been reached in the latest talk,” the statement read.

“Our club president Dr Erol Bedir, Gokhan Altıntas, Tuna Kaya and our club officials held a last meeting with Gyan in Istanbul where a 2-year (with an additional one-year renewable) contract was signed.

“Our president, Gyan and the club officials will move to Kayseri tonight.”

Gyan is Ghana’s all time leading goalscorer with 51 goals in over 100 caps. Despite his prolific nature, crucial misses for the Black Stars, as well as numerous controversies off the pitch, have made him a far more polarising figure than a player of his talent should be.
