Nsawam MCE attracts SA investors; 4000 Housing units, factory in the offing

The Municipal Chief Executive for Nsawam -Adoagyiri Municipality, Hon. Isaac Kwadwo Buabeng has managed to attract some juicy investment opportunities envisaged to transform the municipality.

The MCE who led a delegation to South Africa for investment tour managed to sign MOU with some major investment companies that have agreed to embark on investment drive in the municipality.

The investors are expected to construct a 4000 housing units, establish a fruit processing company, construct a modern market center, and a waste recycling plant through partnership with the Municipal assembly.

The investors will also support the Municipality to modernize agriculture through technical assistance and technology and also help the municipal assembly to manage waste and improve its infrastructure.

The four-member delegation led by the MCE included the Municipal Co-ordinating director, Mr. Sampson Kwarteng Amoako, the Municipal Development Planning Officer, Mr. Isaac Wiafe and a private business consultant, Mr.Stephen Kwaku Darku.

The tour was upon invitation by some major state institutions in South Africa such as Gauteng Growth and Development Agency, The Department of Trade and Industry and WESGRO of Cape Town.

The delegation upon arrival in South Africa, first paid a courtesy call on the acting Ghana High Commissioner to South Africa, Mrs. Florence Kornor at Pretoria.

Speaking to Kasapa News after the return of the delegation Monday, the MCE for Nsawam, Hon.Kwadwo Buabeng  explained that “Limpopo Province in South Africa signed MOU with Nsawam Municipal Assembly for partnership in improving agriculture and infrastructure. We also explored other great investment opportunities and engaged some  high profile state institutions and other private companies who  showed firm commitment  to invest in the municipality.”

He said, the Ghana’s honorary Consul in Cape Town, Dr. Twum Darko led the delegation to engage Western Cape Tourism, Trade and Investment Promotion Agency(WESGRO) where major investment and trade opportunities were explored.

Management of WESGRO has subsequently invited Ghana’s Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Alima Mahama and Director of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) unit to seal partnership agreement to pave way for huge infrastructural development in the various Metropolitan, Municipal and districts assemblies in Ghana.

Hon. Buabeng said, the municipality will continue to engage investors around the globe to take advantage of the numerous opportunities in the municipality particularly in agro-Business to invest for mutual benefit and job creation.
