Mums of twins re-enact Beyonce Instagram picture with Sir and Rumi

Beyonce releases the first picture of her twins, Sir and Rumi.

LAST week, Queen Bey stunned the internet with the first picture of her newborns, Sir and Rumi.

The picture has so far received over nine million likes, making it one of the top liked posts in Instagram history.

The perfectly poised A-lister stood gracefully with her bounced-back baby body and picturesque new life with her twins in arm.

But now mums of social media are re-enacting her post, showing that having a two babies at a time is not all airbrushed glamour.

Irish mum Sharon Killaway started the viral trend when she uploaded her post only hours after Beyonce shared hers.
The mum-of-two wrote: “Love Beyonce’s honest depiction of motherhood. Dress not zipped, something stuck in hair & the look of someone DYING for some buttered toast”.

The new mum wasn’t expecting the pic to take off, telling the BBC: “It wasn’t meant to be a big deal, I just threw on the pink blanket for a laugh.”

Other mums took inspiration from Kellaway’s spoof and continued to upload their experience with raising twins.

A photographer from England did her impersonation with a struggling grip of her four-year-old screaming twin boys, captioning the photo: “Loving the #Beyoncetwins photo, not so easy when they are 4!”

Lynsey Little, also from the UK, joined in with her fresh-out-of-the-womb duo. In a more relaxed picture, Little is showing her worn-out self with sleeping twins cradled on her lap. “Think I nailed it!” she posted.

The trend has gone across all popular social media platforms, with the hashtag #beyoncetwinsvsreality doing the rounds on Instagram.

One mother of four who posts on Instagram as 1baby2baby3baby4 blogs her life with her four kids frequently, and didn’t miss the opportunity to broadcast her post-partum parody.

Similar idea, not so similar picture. Another mum showed her satirical nature in a more relaxed take on the picture, carrying her twin boys in one arm, a beer in the other. Her spew towel veil isn’t quite as picturesque — nor is the backdrop of dirty diapers and undone bedding. This mum got 91 likes on the post, her followers commenting their love for the re-enactment.

Facebook famous blogger Constance Hall didn’t fail her fans with her post. Renowned for posting the ‘reality’ of bringing up her many children, Hall opted for something a little messier, grainier and more exposed than Beyonce’s take.

But it was definitely a crowd pleaser, with over 80,000 likes.
