Motorist slapped with £2,000 in parking fines after workers dug a hole around his parked car

The owner of this Audi was hit with £2,000 in parking fines after workers dug a hole around his parked car, leaving him unable to drive away.

Barriers were put up a fortnight ago after warnings the work was taking place were ignored.

Eyewitnesses said the car’s frustrated owner has continually visited his car to collect his mounting ticket collection

When the car was still not moved, workmen in Mayfair, central London, began digging anyway.

Wardens have since put around 15 tickets on the motor.

Eyewitnesses say the owner has visited his Audi to collect the tickets.

One said: “That’s what happens when you flout parking restrictions but I do feel really sorry for him now.”

Workmen began their digging anyway and created a hole in the road so the vehicle could not move
