Marshallans donate to Winneba Local Prison

Kings and Ladies of Marshall

Winneba (C/R), July 27, GNA – Chief
Superintendent Augustine Bopam, in charge of 
Winneba Local Prison, has called on cooperate bodies and philanthropists
donate and help supplement the effort of government.

He said this when the Effutu branch of the
Kings and Ladies of Marshall (Council 17/ Court 20 ), a society within the
Catholic Church, donated a quantity of assorted items valued over

donate and help supplement the effort of government.

He said this when the Effutu branch of the
Kings and Ladies of Marshall (Council 17/ Court 20 ), a society within the
Catholic Church, donated a quantity of assorted items valued over three
thousand Ghana Cedis to them.

The items donated included, bags of gari and
rice, detergents, cooking oil, mosquito coils and sugar.

The presentation was made by Mr Peter Nimo,
Grand Knight Marshall and Madam Celestine Zuserukuu, Noble Lady of the society.

Chief Superintendent Bopam expressed his
appreciation to the donors for their kind gesture adding that the central
government alone cannot see to the welfare of inmates hence the need for all to
be involved in their upkeep.

Mr Nimo said the gesture forms part of the 55th
anniversary celebration of their organization which will be climax with
thanksgiving service on Sunday 30th July, 2017 with thanksgiving
service at Catholic Parish Church in Winneba, followed by a sod cutting
ceremony to build their own temple.

He said the donation also forms part of their
social responsibility to the society and that since the formation Chapter in
Effutu they have donated similar items to Effutu Municipality Municipal
Government Hospital Kids Ward and other institutions.
