Inigo has played to date 223 official matches with La Real , scoring 17 goals.

On April 6 last year Martinez had his contract extended, making him the highest paid player.

It has now come to light that when this deal was made, Real Sociedad didnt feel the need to raise the centre-back’s release clause.

But now with one year passed they are probably eating their words over that decision as clubs around the world are ready to test the waters and make a bid.

“There comes a time when you consider everything and when I say everything is everything, but I am grateful that the club has done everything possible because I will continue and we can achieve,” said Martinez following his renewal.

Spanish outlet Marca have reported that Martinez’s agent has been in talks to one unnamed club in particular recently.
