Lucas Perez looks doomed at Arsenal as Alexandre Lacazette takes Gunners No.9 shirt and outcast is axed from pre-season tour

ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE has taken the Arsenal  No9 shirt from Gunners outcast Lucas Perez.

Arsene Wenger splashed out  £52million to lure the France striker away from Lyon and he has already trained with the squad.

But Arsenal’s record signing has poached the number of Perez, who joined the club last summer for £17m and has been a disappointment.

Perez – along with fellow fringe players Carl Jenkinson, Mathieu Debucky and Kieran Gibbs – were bumped off the club’s pre-season tour of Australia and China.

And this latest snub looks to confirm he will be shipped out after a miserable 12 months in north London.

Turkish side Fenerbahce are interested in the Spanish forward but any chance of a return to former club Deportivo La Coruna looked to have been quashed.

President Tino Fernandez told the Evening Standard: “The possibilities are remote. We’ve spoken to Arsenal, we were interested and we informed them of that.

“Although it’s true, that was days ago and other things have happened since then, like the fact that he will not be with the team for a few games.”

Much has been speculated over the future of Lucas Perez

The 28-year-old started just two Premier League games last season and was subbed off in both of them.

The former Karpaty man made nine sub appearances in the league and did grab a goal against Bournemouth.

In the domestic cup competitions  Perez showed some promise with three goals in the League and FA cups.

But Lacazette’s arrival – and the loss of his shirt number – looks to have signed his exit papers.
