Kpessa Whyte is evil – NDC parliamentary candidate

Kpessa WhyteWidow of late National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Shai-Osudoku is accusing presidential staffer of plotting her defeat.

Mrs. Linda Akwele Ocloo, a teacher with no political experience polled 5,156 to beat her main contender Dr. Kpessa Whyte, claims her challenger hired thugs to assault her supporters.

The position became vacant following the death of the parliamentary candidate Benjamin Ocloo. Mrs. Ocloo says her victory is to honour the memory of her late husband.

Many believed she would not make any impact since Dr. Kpessa Whyte, the Executive Director of the National Service Secretariat, contested her late husband in the first primaries.

The widow described as an underdog pulled a surprise when she won with an overwhelming majority.

But in an interview on Adom News, she said her victory in the parliamentary primaries was not without a fierce fight.

“Dr. Kpessa Whyte is very evil and I cannot afford to work with such a person; I have to be very frank. We are in the same party, but I will be very careful,” she stressed.

But Mrs. Ocloo said most of her supporters were assaulted by thugs hired by Dr. Whyte during the elections.

“We are one family, but I will only work with loyal and competent people not those seeking their personal interest,” she fumed.

Mrs. Ocloo is convinced with the support of the constituency executives, they will retain the seat for the NDC ahead of the November polls.

In a quick rebuttal, Dr. Kpessa Whyte expressed shock at the wild allegation being leveled against him.

Rather, he said his supports were beaten and maltreated by Mrs. Ocloo’s people after she won.

This notwithstanding, Dr. Whyte said he is ready to support her campaign for a resounding victory in the general elections.
