Kotoko present President’s Cup to Asantehene – Starr Fm

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have presented the 2017 Presidents’ Cup trophy to owner and life patron of the club Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The club presented the trophy to the Asantehene on Monday 10th July, 2017 at the Manhyia Palace.

The Porcupine Warriors triumphed over their arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in a 4-1 penalty shootout after the ninety-minute exchanges between the two glamourous clubs, resulted in a 1-all stalemate.

The delegation was made up of management, technical team and the playing body.

Chairman of the club, Dr. Kwame Kyei used the occasion to formally introduce Coach Steve Polack to the Asantehene for the very first time since he took charge of the Kumasi based team.

Asante Kotoko seem to have found their form after a chain of unimpressive performances over the season and supporters of the 24-time league champions have credited the current technical handler for his influence on the team within this short period.

Polacks’s men beat Medeama SC in a week-21 fixture to move to 3rd position overtaking the Phobians whom have dropped to 4th on the log.

Asante Kotoko are now back-to-back winners of the Presidents’ cup.
