Ghana and Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah has commissioned a football pitch he constructed for inmates of the James Camp Prison in Accra today, Saturday 1st July 2017, following a promise he made them last year.

The Juventus star promised to construct the pitch for the inmates last year when he fraternized with them during the break.

During the Republic Day last year, Kwadwo Asamoah delivered an encouraging message to the inmates of the James Camp prisons at the premises of the facility.

Asamoah charged the inmates to believe in themselves and to be determined to live a better life after leaving the facility.

The Juventus star, called on the inmates not to see their present situation as the end of their lives but rather aspire to become great people when they come out.

“Staying focus in life and been disciplined and relying on God will push you far. In this life though we have clean hearts, we are always up against certain spiritual attacks. So I want to urge you all to be prayerful and be humble as well,” he said.

Though Kwadwo Asamoah, could not honour the occasion in person, Udinese star Agyemang Badu presented, on his behalf, bags of rice, soft drinks, water and an undisclosed amount of money to the inmates.

Agyemang Badu led a Kwadwo Asamoah XI made up of some popular Ghanaian musicians including Obrafour and Klala to play James Camp XI.

Manager of Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan, Samuel Anim Addo also played for the Kwadwo Asamoah XI.

Team Kwadwo Asamoah lost 2-3 on penalties to James Camp XI after a pulsating 1-1 draw.

Ghanaian midfielder who plays for Genoa in the Italian Serie A was there to grace the occasion as well as FIFA General Coordinator Tony Baffoe.

The event was organized by Metro TV Sports headed by Ernest Koranteng, in collaboration with Kwadwo Asamoah.
