I’ve lost respect for George Afriyie – M.N.S Doe

Central Regional FA Boss M.N.S Doe has said he has lost respect for GFA Vice President George Afriyie.

Speculation in the media says, Ghana FA Vice President George Afriyie blasted his boss Kwesi Nyantakyi on Tuesday, told him his piece of mind and then heaved a heavy sigh of relief – ‘Am fed up with the nonsense’ – perhaps that was his final words after he punched the CAF 1st Vice President.

The speculations were that George Afriyie described the FA Boss as greedy and selfish.

Mr Nyantakyi, a FIFA executive council member is alleged to have questioned the loyalty of Afriyie on several counts, resulting in the former firing a damaging remark in response, impugning among others.

Afriyie, who doubles as the chairman of Black Stars Management Committee, is alleged to have gone berserk following Nyantakyi’s decision and told the CAF vice president to ‘take his FA’ as he [Afriyie] is not interested again.

MNS Doe reacting to this saga in an exclusive interview with Kasapa Sports said “I have neither witnessed a confrontation between George Afriyie and Kwesi Nyantakyi nor heard a direct statement from George to that effect but I read it on the net. However, since the release of the statement, no repudiating statement has been given from the camp of George Afriyie. Thus, it can be inferred that it is true since silence means consent and if it is true, then the respect I had for George has plummeted”.

He added that, “Kwasi Nyantakyi has the right and the power to choose someone who is eligible for the deputy position.”

M.N.S Doe concluded that, in the service to Ghana Football he will not decline an offer to take up the position should the mantle fall on him but the onus lies on the FA Boss.
