IPOS Training Academy Scholarships in Kigali, Rwanda, 2017 Scholarship Positions 2017 2018




IPOS is offering scholarships to key African health care professionals (psychologists, physicians, nurses) to attend the 2017 IPOS Training Academy and AORTIC Congress in Rwanda, Africa.

The overall goal of the scholarship is to educate attendees on using psycho-oncology to increase cancer prevention and control.

IPOS is the sole multidisciplinary international charitable organization devoted to psycho-oncology, leading in education, research, training, public policy, and advocacy. In 2014, IPOS celebrated its 30th anniversary and began a partnership with the World Health Organization. Part of our mandate is to build capacity for cancer care in low-income countries. IPOS includes 65+ member countries from 6 continents.

Course Level: Scholarships will be provided to key African health care professionals (psychologists, physicians, nurses) to attend the 2017 IPOS Training Academy and AORTIC Congress in Rwanda, Africa.

Study Subject: Theme: Psycho-Oncology in Cancer Prevention and Control in Africa. The goal of this Training Academy is to train African health care professionals to 1) better understand cultural, social, and psychological barriers to cancer prevention in Africa, and 2) address these barriers through evidenced-based programs.

Scholarship Award: Scholarships will cover costs of training, flight, hotel, and meals up to a certain amount.

Number of Scholarships: The number of scholarships will depend on funding.

Scholarship can be taken in Kigali, Rwanda

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

Nationality: African applicants ( Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, SomaliaSouth Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Western Sahara, Zambia and  Zimbabwe) are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.
