Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A),
June 16, GNA – An investigative committee would be established by the Dormaa
Municipal Assembly to probe the allocation of stores to traders in
Dormaa-Ahenkro.

The allocation of the
90 market stores, which was constructed by the previous assembly has generated
controversy among traders, market women and other individuals in the
municipality.

The markets stores,
the Ghana News Agency investigations reveal, had been sold out to different
people, a situation which is creating confusion in the area.

At an emergency
meeting at Dormaa-Ahenkro, Mr Drissa Ouattara, the Dormaa Municipal Chief
Executive, said tension was gradually mounting among traders and individuals,
hence the need to establish the committee.

“The assembly is
being overburdened by letters and complaints from various people complaining
about the ownership of newly completed stores “, he said.

Mr Ouattara said some
of the petitioners sent the matter to the courts for redress adding that
measures ought to be put in place to avert a chaotic situation.

Mr Nicholas Ntow, the
Presiding Member of the Assembly, appealed to assembly members to exercise
patience as they await their motor bikes and identity cards and that deliveries
would be made when the consignment arrives.

Mr Godwin Jansi, the
Municipal Coordinating Director, said some basic schools at Aboabo Number Four,
Kosane, and Amasu which were severely affected by a recent rainstorm needed
assistance.
