I’m sorry for my ethnocentric comment – Dep Agric Min – Starr Fm

The deputy Agric Minister, William Quaitoo has rendered an unqualified apology for branding the people of the northern extractions as difficult.

“I have apologized and withdraw it. Sincerely, within my heart I have done,” the remorseful Quaitoo told Starr Today’s Benard Nasara Saibu Friday.

His public apology follows calls on him by the Member of Parliament for Builsa South Dr. Clement Apaak to do so.

“I think the comments made by the Deputy Agric minister are most unfortunate and very reprehensible and most demeaning to the several millions of Farmers in the Northern part who have year in, year out contributed to substantially not only to feed us but also to keep a lot of the youth in that part of country employed.

“I object and many others find his comment very demeaning and insulting, the fact remains that the army worm infestation is still alive and well and so for Farmers to then complain about the ineffective approach that the government has adopted the fact that the chemicals are ineffective and for them to make a legitimate case about the loses they have suffered so this is how government choose to respond by telling them they are difficult people and trying to extort money from government ,this is unfortunate…the sooner the minister apologizes the better,” he told Kwaku Obeng Adjei the host of Starr Midday News.
