I’ll prove my critics wrong – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said he will prove his critics wrong by delivering on his promises to Ghanaians by the close of his first term in office.

President Akufo-Addo in the run up to the 2016 general elections, was accused by the main opposition NDC of making huge, and somehow, unrealistic promises to the electorates.

Critics were of the view that  because Nana Akufo -Addo was having his last shot at the Presidency in the last polls, he was therefore resorting to all sorts of idealistic promises that will deceive Ghanaians into voting for him.

The main opposition say Mr. Akufo-Addo and his government is currently faced with the utter complexity of the gargantuan promises he and the NPP made at the polls, which is evident in the wobbly administration seen in the last 7 months.

But Mr. Akufo-Addo  in his tour of the Western region Wednesday, insist his so-called lofty promises will be realized at the end of his four year tenure.

According to him, he’s honest and passionate about the development of the country, hence the assurances which he believes to be the sureway to help boost the lives of the ordinary Ghanaian.

“By the time my four years is up, you’ll see that I came here to make promises that have been kept. I came to inherit an empty treasury, and a lot of debt. It doesn’t frighten me because I think that if you have the courage, if you have the ideas, you can turn around the situation, you can convert debt into money, and that is what we’ve began to do. We’ve began to put the public finances of our country on a sound footing. And with that, we’ll have the opportunity to do all of these matters that we say; Providing education to our young people, those who said I couldn’t do it, that I was doing it for propaganda reasons, i hope that when in September the Free Senior High School programme begins, I’m hoping that they will have the generosity of hear and of character to say Nana, Wo bo) nie!”
