Harry Kane says Tottenham players would be "stupid" to leave with the club on the brink of something big

Harry Kane believes “it would be stupid” for him or any of his team-mates to leave Spurs with the club on the brink of greatness.

The England striker committed his future to the north Londoners by signing a new five-and-a-half year deal in December.

He has since helped Mauricio Pochettino ’s side into title contention and to be on course for a second successive campaign in the Champions League.

Kane, who has scored 13 Premier League goals this season said: “I would be surprised if any of my team-mates were to leave now.

“Something’s going on here, we’re just missing that last step – to win trophies. It would be stupid to leave now.

“We have one of the best managers in the world, perhaps the best. Soon there will be a new stadium. The future is promising.”

Kane joined the likes of Christian Erisken , Dele Alli , Kyle Walker , Danny Rose , Eric Dier and Jan Vertonghen in signing new deals at the club.

Spurs are sit third in the Premier League – nine points off leaders Chelsea. They are also still in the FA Cup and are on course to move into their new 61,000-seater stadium in time for the start of the 2018/19 season.
