Accra, July 28, GNA –
The Minister of the Interior, has on the advice of the Volta Regional Security
Council, and by Executive Instrument, renewed the Curfew hours imposed on the
Alavayo and Nkonya Townships from 2000 hours to 0530 hours, effective Sunday,
30 July 2017.

Alavayo and Nkonya Townships from 2000 hours to 0530 hours, effective Sunday,
30 July 2017.

Ambrose Dery said: “Government continues to express its appreciation to the
Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth and people of the area and urges them to
exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use
non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace.”

Meanwhile, there is a
total ban on all persons in the Kpatinga and surrounding areas from carrying
arms, ammunitions or any offensive weapons, the statement said.

Consequently, any persons found with any arms
or ammunitions would be arrested and prosecuted.
