Gold Scam: Basintale reinstated

The interdicted former East Legon Police Commander, DSP Emmanuel Basintale has been reinstated by the Ghana Police Administration.

Kasapa FM sources in the Police Administration said his reinstatement was effected two weeks ago, despite a pending court case.

DSP Emmanuel Basintale and four others have filed a lawsuit against the Ghana Police Service for violating their rights.

Basintale and co who were accused of being behind an alleged gold scam were interdicted in March this year.

An American company, Green Global Resources, had accused  DSP Basintale and the four other officers of conspiring to steal some 13 gold bars from them, a case which triggered the interdiction months ago.

He was interdicted after preliminary investigations implicated him in the scandal.
