Ghost, Megadeth and more on why you won’t want to miss Bloodstock 2017

SKIPPED Download earlier this year for fear of trench foot?

Can’t face the spring-break fest of Reading and Leeds?

Then get a load of what the meatiest metal party of the lot, Bloodstock has on offer this August in Catton Park, Derby.

This year marks the 17th instalment of the open air festival that has played host through the years to the likes of Slayer, Lamb Of God and Rob Zombie.

While over 100 bands rock the four stages headlined by Megadeth, Ghost and Amon Amarth, over 100 real ales form a formidable line-up at the many bars including the honorary Lemmy’s Bar.

But it’s not just the 15,000 faithful festival goers that have a thirst for Bloodstock. Take it from this bunch who couldn’t say no to appearing at this year’s festival:

“We’re headlining Sunday night at Bloodstock, one of my favourite, purely metal, British festivals! Megadeth had a blast last time and I can’t wait to bring the Dystopia World Tour to Bloodstock this summer. See ya at Catton Park in August!” Dave Mustaine (MEGADETH)

“We are absolutely chuffed to finally be playing at the classic Bloodstock. Over the years we have heard so many great things about it and now, to be able to headline one of the nights, is a great honour.  Thank you all and see you there!” A Nameless Ghoul (GHOST)

“What’s up UK! We are invading Bloodstock! It’s going to be a f******g awesome party, with immense bloodshed and you better be there!”  Joan Hegg (AMON AMARTH)

“We’re very much looking forward to being a part of this year’s Bloodstock, which actually takes place very close to where my father was born. We’ll be bringing our ‘pure f*****g metal’ attack home… Hail to England!” Michael Amott (ARCH ENEMY)

“Bloodstock’s the coolest festival in the UK. You can feel it’s done by people that are passionate about the music. Even though it’s grown bigger over the years there is still a cool family vibe among the bands and the fans. This will be a highlight for us because we are coming with our full festival production that will blow everyone away!” Mille Petrozza (KREATOR)

“We are looking forward to heading back overseas this summer to be part of Bloodstock 2017.  When we were offered the show and we saw the lineup we were extremely excited. We’ve seen tons of videos from Bloodstock in the past and cannot wait to be there.” Alex Koehler (CHELSEA GRIN)

“Obviously the band are really looking forward to playing the festival, and as a English band it will definitely be an honour to play the main stage on what is tantamount to the best British festival out there. We intend on putting on a raucous heavy metal spectacle!” DEVILMENT

“We’re beyond excited to be playing Bloodstock. Every year we’re in awe of how good the line-up is, so for them to ask us to jump on board is a real privilege. See you guys in the pit for Megadeth!” PUPPY
