Ghanaian players abroad wrap up: Goals galore as NINE players found the back of the net over the weekend

ENGLAND

Daniel Amartey made a cameo appearance for Leicester City in their 4-3 loss at Arsenal in the opening day of the English Premier League.

Daniel Agyei was not included in Burnley match day squad in their 3-2 win over Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge.

Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah played 78th minute on his Crystal Palace debut as they hammered 3-0 at home by newly promoted club Huddersfield Town. German-born Ghanaian midfielder Collin Quaner came off the bench to assist Huddersfield third goal.

Jordan Ayew played full throttle for Swansea City in their 0-0 stalemate against Southampton.

Christian Atsu was impressive for Newcastle United in their 2-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspurs.

Andre Ayew lasted for 90 minutes as West Ham United were hammered 4-0 at Manchester United.

Andy Yiadom was missing from Barnsley match day squad as he edges closer to Huddersfield Town switch in their 2-1 loss at home to Ipswich Town.

Albert Adomah replaced Ahmad Elmohamady with just 31 minutes on the clock as Aston Villa lost 3-0 at Cardiff City.

Caleb Ekuban warmed the bench for 90 minutes for Leeds United in their 0-0 draw at home to Preston North End.

Phil Ofosu Ayerh still nursing an injury as he missed Wolves 2-0 win at Derby County.

Belgium-born of Ghanaian descent Dennis Odoi missed Fulham 1-1 draw with Reading as he nears a move back to Belgium.

In the League One, Kwesi Appiah was hauled off at half time for AFC Wimbledon 1-0 home loss to Shrewsbury Town.

Thomas Asante Brandon was an unused substitute for Milton Keynes Dons in their 1-0 loss at Blackpool.

In the League two, Akwasi Asante did not make Grimsby Town match day squad in their 2-0 loss at home to Coventry City. Kwame Thomas also faced the same fate for Coventry.

Koby Arthur was taken with nine minutes left for Macclesfield Town in their 0-0 draw against Bromley.

GERMANY

Defender Joseph Baffo was shown a red card in Eintracht Braunschweig 2-1 loss at Hostein Kiel in the German DFB Pokal round of 32 while compatriot Steffen Nkansah was an unused substitute.

German-born Ghanaian defender Marcel Appiah was red carded for VfL Osnabruck in their 3-1 win over Gideon Jung’s Hamburg SV in the German DFB Pokal round of 32. Jung lasted entire duration.

Ebenezer Ofori enjoyed 60 minutes of action for VfL Stuttgart in their 3-2 penalty shoot-out victory over Energie Cottbus.

Daniel Opare was an unused substitute for Augsburg in their 2-0 loss at Magdeburg in the DFB Pokal.

ITALY

Kwadwo Asamoah spent the entire duration of Juventus 3-2 loss to SS Lazio in the Italian Super Cup.

Isaac Donkor played full throttle for AC Cesena in their 2-1 extra time loss at Isaac Cofie’s Genoa in the Coppa Italia round of 32. Coffie was an unused substitute.

Afriyie Acquah played full throttle for Torino as they thump Trapani Calcio 7-1 in the Coppa Italia round of 32.

Godfred Donsah was an unused substitute for Bologna as they were bundled out of the Coppa Italian Cup after losing 3-0 at home to Cittadella.

Bright Gyamfi spent the entire duration on the substitute bench for Benevento in their 4-0 home loss to Perugia in the Copa Italia round of 32. Rahman Chibsah did not make the match day squad for the losers.

Moses Odjer lasted for 57 minutes for Salernitana in their 4-3 penalty loss to Carpi in the Coppa Italia round of 32.

Bright Addae played full throttle for Ascoli in their Coppa Italia exit to Chievo Verona.

Maxwell Boadu Acosty was not included in Crotone match day squad as they beat Piacenza 2-1 in the Coppa Italia.

Alfred Duncan was missing in action for Sassoulo in their 2-0 win over Spezia in the Coppa Italia, as his move away from the club looks increasingly certain.

FRANCE

French-born Ghanaian defender Enock Kwateng missed Nantes 1-0 loss against Olympique Marseille with injury.

Ebenezer Assifuah scored his fourth goal of the season for Le Havre in their 3-0 win over Paris FC.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi wan an unused substitute for Sochaux in their 3-2 win against Lens.

AUSTRIA

David Atanga and Samuel Tetteh were again missing for Red Bull Salzburg with injuries in their 1-0 win at Altach.

Kadiri Mohammed made a cameo appearance for Austria Vienna in their 2-0 win over Lask Linz

Gideon Mensah was shown a red card in FC Liefering 2-2 stalemate at Hartberg.

Kennedy Boateng played full throttle for Reid in their 1-1 draw at BW Linz.

AZERBAIJAN

Richard Gadze scored the winning goal for Zira in their 2-1 win over Sabaili.

BELGIUM

Goalkeeper Abdul Manaf-Nurudeen was not included in Zulte Waregem match day squad in their 2-1 loss against Club Brugge. Budding winger Elton Ofoi Acolatse could not make Brugge match day squad.

Dennis Appiah played 74 minutes for Anderlecht in their 1-0 win over Oostende. Emmanuel Adjei Sowah did not make the match day squad.

Defender Joseph Aidoo is still waiting to make his debut for KRC Genk as he was an unused substitute in their 3-1 defeat at Standard Liege.

Dennis Appiah lasted for 62 minutes in Anderlecht 2-0 shocking defeat at Chaleroi. Emmanuel Nii Adjei was missing in the match day squad.

Samuel Asamoah was a late substitute for St. Truiden in their 1-0 home win over Standard Liege.

Forward Eric Ocansey again played full throttle for Eupen as they pipped 2-1 at home by Bernard Kumordzi’s Kortrijk. Kumordzi enjoyed 90 minutes of action.

Nana Akwesi Asare missed KAA Gent 1-1 stalemate at KV Mechelen with a minor injury.

Bernard Kumordzi played full throttle for Kortrijk in their 1-0 win over Sporting Lokeren.

William Amponsah was on target for Royal Antwerp in their 5-3 loss to Joseph Aidoo’s KRC Genk. Aidoo was again an unused substitute.

Nana Amponsah scored for Waasland Beveren in their 3-0 away win over Oostende.

Bernardinho Tetteh lasted 63 minutes on his debut for Westerlo in their 1-1 stalemate with Tubize.

BELARUS

Striker Joel Fameyeh was substituted in the 73rd minute in Dinamo Brest 1-0 loss at BATE Borisov.

Dickson Afoakwa was hauled off at half time for FC Gomel in their 1-1 draw at Slavia Mozyr. His compatriot Evans Edomanko made a cameo appearance.

BULGARIA

Striker Francis Narh made a cameo appearance for Levski Sofia in their 2-0 victory over Dunav Ruse.

CROATIA

Striker Said Ahmed was a second half substitute in Hadjuk Split 1-0 win over Slaven Belupo.

CZECH REPUBLIC

Benjamin Tetteh missed Bohemians 1905 0-0 draw at Brno with a minor knock.

DENMARK

Midfielder Ibrahim Moro played a key role for Silkeborg in their 4-1 victory over Helsingor.

Joseph Mensah lasted for 88 minutes for AC Horsen as they held giants Copenhagen to a 1-1 draw.

Godfred Donsah scored a brace for FC Nordsjaelland in their 4-3 defeat at Midtylland. Ernest Asante lasted entire duration while Collins Tanor was an unused substitute.

Kevin Mensah spent the 90 minutes on the bench for Brondby in their 0-0 stalemate at Randers FC.

Nana Welbeck failed to make appearance for Odense in their 0-0 draw at Aarhus.

 

FINLAND

Seth Paintsil scored for FF Jaro in their 2-0 win over Gnistan.

INDONESIA

Michael Essien played 82 minutes for Persib Bandung in their 0-0 stalemate at Arema Malang.

Want-away forward Patrick Twumasi was an unused substitute in Astana FC 3-0 victory at Aktobe.

NETHERLANDS

Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Derrick Luckassen missed PSV Eindhoven 3-2 win over his former club AZ Alkmaar with an injury.

Thomas Agyepong was a late substitute for NAC Breda as they were mauled 4-1 at Vitesse Anheim.

NIGERIA

Seidu Mutawakilu played a key role for Enugu Rangers in their 1-0 win over Sunshine Stars.

Fatau Dauda also kept a clean sheet for Enyimba in their 3-0 win over Bukola Saraki

NORWAY

Edwin Gyasi played full throttle for Aalesund in their 1-1 draw against Viking.

Raymond Gyasi was on target for Stabaek as they held Haugesund to a 2-2 stalemate.

Gilbert Koomson was taken off in the 87th minute in Sogndal 2-1 loss at Sandefjord.

POLAND

Aziz Tetteh missed Lech Poznan 1-1 draw against Zaglebie through suspension.

PORTUGAL

Striker Emmanuel Boateng played full throttle for Morierense in their 0-0 stalemate with Sporting Feirense.

Lumor Agbenyenu played 90 minutes for Portimonense in their 2-1 loss at Sporting Braga. His compatriot Emmanuel Hackman was not introduced in the game.

SCOTLAND

Prince Buaben did not travel with Hearts of Midlothian in their 1-0 win at Kilmarnock

Joe Dodoo was again not included in Rangers match day squad in their 3-2 home defeat to Hibernian.

SWEDEN

Kingsley Sarfo scored for Malmo FF on his return to action in their 6-0 win over Kalmar.

Isaac Shaze made a cameo appearance for Osters in their 1-1 draw with Gefle. Enock Edu made no appearance on the teamsheet.

Samuel Mensah was impressive for Ostersunds in their 2-2 draw at Hammarby. Patrick Kpozo did not make Ostersunds match day squad.

Sabah Lawson and Thomas Boakye played 90 minutes for Varbergs as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Brommapojkaena.

SWITZERLAND

Nuhu Kassim opened his account of the campaign for Young Boys in their 3-0 win over Breitenrain in the Swiss Cup round of 32.

Raphael Dwamena scored a hat trick for FC Zurich as they mauled Chippis 10 in the Swiss Cup round of 32.

SERBIA

Abraham Frimpong scored for Red Star Belgrade in their 3-1 win over FK Backa while compatriot Richmond Boakye Yiadom was an unused substitute.

Joseph Owusu Bempah enjoyed 90 minutes for Vojvodina in their 1-0 loss to Partizan Belgrade.

Kennedy Kwarteng missed Borac match day squad again with injury as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at Napredak.

Francis Kyeremah also missed Radnicki Nis match day squad in their 2-0 win over Rad Beograd

SLOVENIA

Striker Arafat Mensah Ibrahim played full throttle for Aluminij in their 1-0 loss at ND Gorica.

Issah Abass lasted 87 minutes for NK Olimpija Ljubljana in their 4-0 win over Rudar.

SOUTH AFRICA

Ghanaian goalkeepers Razak Brimah and Richard Ofori were both facing work permit issues hence their missing in action when their side’s Mamelodi Sundown and Maritzburg United clash in the MTN 8 Cup. The later won by a lone goal.

TURKEY

Attamah Lawerh enjoyed 90 minutes for Basakseher in their 1-0 win over Bursaspor Turkish SuperLig opener while compatriot Agyemang Badu also tasted full throttle for Bursaspor.

Isaac Sackey lasted for 64 minutes for Alanyaspor in their 3-1 defeat to Bernard Mensah’s Kasimpasa. Mensah made a cameo appearance.

John Boye did make Sivasspor match day squad as they lost 1-0 at Akhisar Genclik.

Jerry Akaminko played 90 minutes for Eskisehirspor as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Instanbulspor AS.

 

USA

Latif Blessing was a second half substitute for Sporting Kansas City in their 1-0 loss at Seattle Sounders.

Jonathan Mensah, Lalas Abubakar and Harrison Afful played instrumental roles for Columbus Crew in their 3-1 win over David Accam’s Chicago Fire. Accam lasted for 89 minutes. Meanwhile, Mohammed Abu was an unused substitute for the Crew.

Gideon Baah was missing in action for Red Bull Salzburg in their 3-1 win over Orlando City.

Bismark Adjei Boateng made a cameo appearance for Colorado Rapids in their 0-0 draw at FC Dallas.

Gershon Koffie played full throttle for New England Revolution in their 1-0 win against Vancouver Whitecaps.

Dominic Oduro enjoyed 67 minutes for Montreal Impact in their 3-0 away win over Charles Sapong and Joshua Yaro’s Philadelphia Union. They both played full throttle.

Ema Boateng lasted 90 minutes for LA Galaxy in their 2-0 home defeat to New York City.

Defender Lloyd Sam registered an assist for compatriot Kofi Opare for DC United in their 1-1 draw with Toronto FC, but was red carded for a reckless challenge. Chris Odoi Atsem came on late to help shore up the defense with thirteen minutes left to play while Patrick Nyarko missed the match day squad.

Kwame Awuah spent the entire 90 minutes on the substitute bench for New York City in their 3-2 win over New York Red Bulls.

Kwadwo Poku lasted for 76 minutes for Miami FC in their 3-1 win over Indy Eleven.

Michael Kafari did not play any part in Puerto Rico 0-0 draw against San Francisco Deltas.

ZAMBIA

Veteran midfielder Mustapha Essuman sat out for Biuldcon FC in their 2-1 defeat at home to Lasaka Dynamos.
