Literacy experts have attributed the failure of many students in academic disciplines to what they describe as years of obsolete learning template adopted by the Ghana Education Service.

Officials of Midstream Literacy Agency, education support service provider, say Ghana kept outdated and old-fashioned teaching methodologies.

Chief Executive of the Agency, Evans Owusu Amankwaa, concludes that the situation has resulted in many teachers lagging behind in modern teaching trends.

He says many students continue to perform poorly in various subjects because they lack the basic understanding of the English Language which is a communicative tool for examinations.

Midstream Literacy Agency has, meanwhile, launched a quarterly English Teacher’s journal which seeks to assist English teachers in keeping up with new methods of instruction.
