Eighty Ghanaians deported from Libya

At least eighty Ghanaians have been deported from Libya back to Ghana.

They were Ghanaians living in the Arab country illegally, officials say.

The deportees arrived in the night at the Kotoka International Airport, Thursday, 27 July, 2017.

Reports say quiet a number of them had been caged for as long as eight months in prison before their deportation.

It has been a usual affair for Ghanaians, and nationals from other African countries to cross to Libya for greener pastures on the Sahara desert.Dozens don’t even make it to their final destination and perish on the desert.

Meanwhile, in April this year, some 300 Ghanaians in Libya voluntarily returned home.
