Easter Monday Marked With Picnics and Merry Making

65The Tema Community One District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, PCG, is organizing a Picnic at Kodiabe as part of the District’s Easter Monday activities.

The District is made up of four churches and two preaching posts within the Tema Township.

Members will engage in various sporting activities. Winners in the various sport disciplines will be awarded trophies.

Speaking in an interview with Obonu News, the Clerk of the Tema Community One District of the PCG, Winfred Dugbartey, said apart from the fun games, an evangelism team will also go to the villages around to win more souls for Christ.

They will also be distributing toiletries and used clothing among others items to some deprived persons in the vicinity.

Some holiday makers are also trooping in to the Titanic Beach at Sakumono to have fun. Traders have taken advantage of the day to display their wares to make more money.

Meanwhile, revelers mostly Christians have this morning gathered on various church premises to have fun.

Activities at the various places include picnics, beach parties and family gatherings.

Members of the Nungua and Teshie branches of the Global Evangelical Church are gathered at the Rapture School to wine and dine amidst playing of outdoor and indoor games such as oware and ludu as well as football.

The Children’s Ministry of the Church has not been left.

They have been provided with large TV sets to watch cartoons. Speaking to Obonu News, the Parish Pastor of the Teshie Global Evangelical Church, Reverend Maxwell Joshua Bonuedi, reiterated the significance of Easter.

He said it is a symbol of Christ’s victory over death, therefore, Christians must use the season to reflect on their past and make amendments for the future.

At the Lizzy Sports Complex, in Accra members of the ICGC Church were seen trickling in with friends and family to spend quality time together.
