Donald Trump shoots CNN in Instagram meme shared by Trump Jr.

PRESIDENT Donald Trump can be seen in the quick clip going to war with news channel CNN in a ‘Top Gun’-style video posted on the Instagram and Twitter.

The doctored footage shows the President shooting a missile at a jet emblazoned with the CNN logo which then explodes, The Sun reports.

According to reports in the US, Trump Jr. reposted the video from Old Row Sports, a website owned by Barstool Sports.

“One of the best I’ve seen,” the 39-year-old said.

However, many of those that saw Donald Jr’s post failed to see the funny side.

Jessica Ellis tweeted: “Reporting this for targeted harassment. This is disgusting.”

Matt Redman added: “This just isn’t funny … you are a d***.”

David Moore wrote: “This family sets such a low bar, they don’t even bother trying to lift it off of the ground. It’s suits them just fine where the low bar is.”

Nancy Mal added: “You really prove the point that money can’t buy class.”

Emanuel Zbeda tweeted: “Everybody loves a dank meme, but when it’s endorsed by the first family it becomes a political statement.”

Last week, Trump came under fire himself when he tweeted a spoof video of him wrestling a CNN broadcaster to the ground and punching him in the head.

The billionaire businessman’s bizarre post of a violent meme was captioned: “#FraudNewsCNN #FNN”.

It showed ‘Trump’ launch an attack on a man who had CNN’s logo covering his face.

The bizarre video followed his rant yesterday in response to criticism of his social media use.

He said: “My use of social media is not Presidential – it’s MODERN DAY PRESIDENTIAL.

“Make America Great Again!”

He had earlier said: “I am thinking about changing the name #FakeNews CNN to #FraudNewsCNN!”

At an event honouring veterans, Trump launched an explosive attack on the US media.

Since becoming President he has frequently used the hashtag #fakenews when he disagrees with how a story has been written about him.

He later said: “The fake media is trying to silence us, but we will not let them. The fake media tried to stop us from going to the White House. But I’m President and they’re not.”

Social media users reacted in disgust over the online outburst, suggesting it could be one step too far for the President.

It’s not the first time Trump’s late-night Twitter post has caused controversy – or even humour – among his followers.

Last month the President tweeted out a misspelled and half-finished post which read: “Despite the constant negative press covfefe.”

And despite the tweet being ridiculed online it remained on his Twitter feed for over five hours before being deleted about 5:45am Washington DC time.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said last week Mr Trump “in no way, form or fashion has ever promoted or encouraged violence”.

CNN responded in a statement: “It is a sad day when the President of the United States encourages violence against reporters.

“Clearly, Sarah Huckabee Sanders lied when she said the President had never done so.

“Instead of preparing for his overseas trip, his first meeting with Vladimir Putin, dealing with North Korea and working on his health care bill, he is instead involved in juvenile behaviour far below the dignity of his office.

“We will keep doing our jobs. He should start doing his.”

Trump’s body slam video is still up on Twitter, despite arguments that it and other tweets from the President could violate its policies.

Instagram, on the other hand, is known for its stringent anti-harassment policy, so Trump Jr.’s meme may not be up for long.
