Playing in a No 10 role behind the front man, he offers great movement, links up well with his team-mates and is so dangerous on counter-attacks.

Some foreign players take time to adjust to a new country and new culture. But the 26-year-old has made an instant impact since arriving at Leeds from Huesca.

Saiz started out in the Real Madrid youth set-up and played on loan at several La Liga clubs, including Atletico Madrid.

Last season he scored 12 league goals in 40 matches in the Spanish second division and has kept up that form in England.

With Chris Wood joining Burnley, there will be greater onus on Saiz to score goals. For any manager, it is a dream to have midfielders who are a genuine goal threat.

Saiz played in the same Real Madrid B team as Chelsea star Marcos Alonso seven years ago.
