Chris Ramsey defends Vicky Pattison following I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp ‘axe’ – and hints they both could return this year

CHRIS Ramsey has defended his axed I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp co-star Vicky Pattison – and hints they both could return to the show.

The comedian joined his fellow geordie to co-host the ITV2 spin-off show for the first time last year, alongside Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash.

Many criticised Vicky’s presenting style during its run and The Sun’s Bizarre column then revealed in April the former Geordie Shore star had been axed from the programme.

But speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, Chris was quick to sing Vicky’s praises.

He said: “Vicky is class, I’ve worked with her a lot lately, she gives 110 per cent and she is what she is.

“She has a special place in my heart, when we started working together she asked when I was doing a gig in Newcastle, and I said May, but this was back in November.

“She said, ‘Me and my mates want to come’, but you take it with a pinch of salt as everyone says that.

“I asked a few times in the run up to the gig if she was still coming and she said she was and then 13 of her mates and her came along to my gig which was lovely. She’s a proper canny lass.”

Despite news of Vicky’s axe, Chris would love to return to Australia with the show later this year, and is pretty sure Vicky would still love to do it too.

He said: “We’ve heard not a single thing about the jungle.

“When we left last year they said, ‘Did you all enjoy it?’ We said yes, they said, ‘Would you want to do it again?’ We said yes and if the chance comes up why not?

“I’m sure we’d all be up for it, it was very positive, but you’ve heard as much as me.

“It was a very brave format and really good fun to do and hopefully they’ll do it again.”

In the meantime, Chris is keeping himself busy with his other TV commitments, including regular appearances on Celebrity Juice, hosting Virtually Famous as well as working with Playstation on its new game, That’s You!, the first in the Playlink range of games.

Combining a smart device, TV and PlayStation 4, the game combines over 1,000 questions about the people in the room with touch-screen drawing, writing and photo activities.

Chris said: “We get really competitive [in my house], so my wife thought it was right up our street.

“The questions are all about you and your mates and you bet on what you think is the answer, if the majority of you get it right, you get the points, it’s so much fun.”
