Chelsea to win title again and Everton to come third? Premier League table based on bets this season

PUNTERS are backing Chelsea to pick up where they left off and win their second consecutive Premier League.

That is according to Ladbrokes who have devised a league table based on outright bets on who customers think will be champions of England.

And whilst it would be no surprise to see Antonio Conte lifting the trophy yet again, it appears football fans have full confidence in Ronald Koeman’s Everton.

The Toffees have wasted no time in delving heavily into the transfer market by spending over £100million on seven players.

The arrivals of Jordan Pickford, Wayne Rooney and Davy Klaassen have given punters encouragement that they could be in line for a sensational campaign as they sit third behind Manchester United.

Interestingly Jose Mourinho’s new-look side are proving second most popular ahead of rivals Liverpool who are fourth in the table.

The £75million addition of striker Romelu Lukaku has given the Red Devils firepower in attack as Mourinho admits their transfer business is only 50 per cent completed.

But there appears to be no confidence in Tottenham despite the side finishing second last season.

How much would the best ever Premier League players have been worth at 18?

Mauricio Pochettino has yet to make a major summer signing and they could be impacted by having to play their home games at Wembley next season.

Alex Apati, a spokesman for Ladbrokes, said: “This table makes for interesting reading, with plenty confident Conte’s men can retain the title.

“But the standout side for us has to be Everton.

“Ronald Koeman has added some serious talent to his team and if our punters are right, the Toffees could be in for an exciting campaign.”

Manchester City have improved their squad with the likes of Bernardo Silva but punters are failing to find the confidence in Pep Guardiola.

They also think it will be yet another tough season for Arsenal.
