Cape Coast North MP donates food items to Muslims in Cape Coast


The Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North in the Central region, Hon. Barbara Asher Ayisi has donated food and other items worth GHC10,000 to the Cape Coast North Muslim Community.

The move, according to the Member of Parliament who doubles as the Deputy Education Minister is to support the moslem community in their ongoing Ramadan fasting and prayers.

The donation which was done at the Kate Apartment in Cape Coast was received by Imam Mohammed Sharif Ali on behalf of the 28 mosques in the Cape Coast North Constituency.

The donation was done on behalf of the MP and Deputy Minister by her husband Mr. George Frederick Kwadwo Ayisi and was supported by Ebo Sarbah who is the Cape Coast North constituency secretary of the New Patriotic Party.

Speaking on behalf of the MP, Mr. George Frederick Kwadwo Ayisi stated that the gesture was to support the islamic community in the Cape Coast North Constituency and to also call on them to say a prayer for her constituency and Ghana as a whole.

“We seek prayers for NPP Cape Coast North, Central Region and Ghana. Pray for Ghana especially the President and his government,” Mr. Ayisi stated.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Muslim Community, Imam Mohammed Sharif Ali expressed gratitude to the MP for supporting them in their period of fast explaining that the items will be put into good use to benefit all the Islamic communities.

We pray for the good health of the MP, the good people of Cape Coast, Central Region and Ghana.
We also pray for Hon. Barbara Asher Ayisi, the NPP government especially Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo”, the Imam prayed.

The Muslims pledged their continued support to peace and development in the Cape Coast North Constituency and Ghana at large.

The Ramadan fasting and prayers is expected to end on Saturday. Eid ur Adha is slated for Sunday 25th June, 2017.
