BBC1 documentary Diana, 7 Days sparks backlash and outpouring of grief from viewers ahead of the 20th anniversary of her death

SUNDAY’s BBC1 documentary about the week following Princess Diana’s death sparked a renewed emotional outpouring ahead of the 20th anniversary.

Some vented their outrage at the royals, particularly Charles and Camilla.

Janice White blasted: “Charles and the old slapper should be so ashamed-He does not deserve to be our king.”

But some defended the family’s delayed response to public mourning.

Amy said: “They were grieving. They’re normal people.”

Some decried the presence of former Prime Minister Tony Blair in the documentary, while others put politics aside entirely.

Ruth Hecht said: “Blair is so full of his own self importance. Horrible.”

Alison wrote: “It’s fascinating to see how, from beyond the grave, for all her flaws and all her gifts, she’s still causing ripples.”

Evo added: “Feels like it was yesterday and yet 20 years later she’s still the most famous woman in the world for all the right reasons.”
