And Barcelona chiefs are in Portugal to try and complete the capture of Benfica defender Nelson Semedo, according to Gol.

Supremos Robert Fernandez and Javier Bordas reportedly arrived in Lisbon today aiming to land the highly-rated prospect, 23.

Barca chief Luis Enrique is desperate to sign a right-back capable of filling Dani Alves’ boots, with the position an issue last season.

Midfielder Sergi Roberto was deployed as an emergency option after Alex Vidal struggled.

They are hoping to sign Semedo for around £26million – considerably less than Arsenal’s asking price.

Semedo broke into the Benfica team two seasons ago and established himself as a first-choice option over the last campaign.

The six-cap Portuguese international played 47 times in all competitions – chipping in with two goals as 12 assists.

Meanwhile Bellerin, 22, looks to be putting the speculation behind him as he enjoys an extended break.
